why is the battery bulged. Does that mean the battery got hot/over charged?

yes it is a 16V batt and it should be charged @17.5 or so so if your system is 12V it would kill it

normally you would be 100% correct but in the case of the kinetiks the 12V post if you use it and dont have a bunch (with the 12V all connected to eachother) it will bulge like that it creates a uneven draw but it is 100% ok i will stand behind that

wait explain that connecting them, im going to pick up 3 from a local and i was planning on running one under the hood and 2 in back, i wanted the cars electronics off the front 12 volt post but also send the 16 volts to the back to the other batteries, my alt will be charging around 18 volts, so is this unsafe or gonna give me problems?

kinda worries me, you mean run my 2 1/0 from the 16v to the back 16 volt posts then also run a 12 volts positive to all the positive posts?

yes hook all 12V up and all 16V up and that will prolong the bulging but yes it will happen when you use the 12V post that creates a weird load and intern over some time bulges your batt why do you think that kinetik is the only one that makes a tri post everyone else found that out and went against it i had 6 all hooked up that way and never got a bulge but when i went to 3 i did and i know a guy ( dropbottommazda) he has 6 and has it hooked up like that and got a bulge so just watch it thats all great batts though still work fine just dont look good
