Sold FS-FT: Two Stetsom 7KD 16vstock and 16vmod *PICS*

Hi

It's been a while since I was on this forum but I though some here might be interested in these amps.

I bought these 2 amps from a Stetsom Dealer and they were sold with only having light use. They both work fine and are in fair cosmetic condition with some light marks. (please see pics, I have only hooked these to the bench, never installed them)

One is a stock 16v and the other has a street mod, I guess you would call it. Here's what the mod consisted of and pics of it:

replaced fuses with copper bars

added 4 extra runs of 4ga wire

removed resistor D30

One amp will sell with the linking cable, set screw wrenches and paperwork. The other will sell as just the amp.

They will both be packaged 100% secure to assure a safe arrival.

Well maybe warrant on the stock one..

There was also Another Modd to add some resistors to the boards and another wire, I didn't get that far but will lend that info to the buyer if interested.

(I don't need to say how good of a guy you are)

I know a couple people running them daily. (Chris being one and Lewis being another) They work just fine for them but guys have set them up very well. (and properly)

I do not want to recommend daily because the dealer stressed to me that this was not a daily amp.

It's only "not daily" because of heat issues and draw so if you kept it from overheating and had the batts for it, it would probably work fine.

These are being sold as Competiton Amps though, not daily.

Well you where or the dealer was miss informed if they told you a 7kd wasn't a daily amp. It'll do 1ohm all day long with no heat problems as long as you give it a good power supply. The one we have for daily is killer with no issues. Just the cooling fan as a little loud. And the mod you have done to the one 7kd is only good for a couple tenths of a db if you use it for spl comp's on 12v. But on 16v those mods make a way bigger difference. None the less if you want a killer spl amp or killer street beater you'll be happy as hell with either amp.

this goes right along with all the other misleading and conflicting misinformation I have received from several dealers, competitors and even the Stetsom Staff itself…

This is another reason I am not going to use this product. (the lack of SQ, support and service)

I’m sure they can put out the power though…

I'll agree with you to an extent. Over all Stetsom is trying to overcome the hardship of bring their product to North American and they are hitting a lot of bumps along the way. They are working on fixing the "conflicting misinformation" issues and working on bettering the customer service to North America.

As for SQ I think the amps hold up very good vs. other comparable price amps but they arn't priced like a high end SQ product. So I wouldn't expect them to be as good as say a Zapco for example. But Stetsom does have other lines that are more engineered toward SQ vs. raw power.

Hopefully down the road as Stetsom tries to improve themselves in North America you may give them a try once again.

That is the most honest and realistic info I have heard to date about this amp and company.

I would assume this and hope that Stetsom can get "on top" where they belong this a product like this. (kd amps)

My judgement still stands as of now but I hope to see things turn around in the future.
