Well I'm gonna be hopefully getting a new car so I was going to see if anybody is interested in the CarPC currently in my car.
Comes with the following :
EPIA Mini-ITX M1000 motherboard/processor
512Mb RAM (don't remember the speed)
250Gb WD Caviar SE 2 Hard Drive
Audigy 2 SE sound card
OPUS 150W DC-DC Power supply w/ built in digital startup/shutdown controller (Designed specifically for in car use)
Slimline slotload DVD-ROM/CD-R combo drive with enclosure
BU-353 USB GPS Reciever
Lilliput 7'' VGA Touchscreen (no housing)
Tiny 2.5'' USB keyboard
All wiring except for power wires (3 or 4 15' USB cables, and a 15' VGA cable)
Features :
Plays CDs, MP3 files stored on the hard drive, DVDs, or videos stored on the hard drive. GPS navigation. All the windows games, plus whatever games you choose to install on it.
MUCH more stuff can be added on, your imagination is the limit. Internet accessibility is possible, it can be interfaced with your bluetooth phone, it can operate hands free with a microphone, you can plug it into your cars OBDII or other ports and tune with it, or create digital gauges on the screen. It's a regular PC, just be creative.
The good :
This is literally EVERYTHING you need, a 100% complete Car PC minus the power wiring.
The bad :
The screen's front housing was permanently fiberglassed into my car's dashboard. The guts of the screen can very easily be removed along with the back housing, but they will require a custom mount to be built or a new front face to be purchased. Not an expensive piece at all.
Also I never got around to buying an FM radio reciever, however the PC can function alonside a regular head unit if you decide to go that route.
Anybody who buys this can definitely count on me for help installing it. I know everything there is to know about CarPCs. If you've been thinking about trying this, here's your chance.
There is a top carpeted panel that screws on, it was just removed to show the how the computer parts are arranged inside the case
Price : $500 OBO + Shipping
You won't find a setup this comprehensive anywhere for close to this price.
