no this wont run .5....infact I wouldn't ever run any amp at .5..the impedance swings alone would cause a dead short...just my $.02

I've seen all the TRU amps except the biggest copper series amp in person, as I live 5mins away from the "lab". The hammer, like all the TRUs, is seriously under rated, and is more than just the wattage... it supplies power clean enough for full range speakers - honestly! I've never heard subs sound so much like a bangin home audio system.
