Well, I blew my 9515 the other week and I have decided it would be more fun to just go with a different set-up than get it reconed by DD. So here is what I have:

DD 9515 15" basket

DD 9500 e motor

These are the only pics I have of it because I have yet to pull it out of the box:

Anyway, I don't think there is anything wrong with it, I just ran around 15 straight burps on 3kw without sufficient cool down time, and it blew.

As far as a price, I am not too sure.

I saw a 9500g motor sell for around $300 on here not too long ago.

I also saw a 9500d motor go for around $200.

So I will start the price for my e motor with 15" basket at $225+shipping.

Let me know if you want it.

Sean

not to sound like a noob but will dd recone this>? because i know they stopped something with the recones...maybe sending them out...if not who else can?
My understanding is that if you supply a picture of the DD motor with the date and your name, etc, like it is here on ca.com, they will allow a recone. Their recone issues are with people trying to get DD recones for non DD motors. So I am at this moment 100% sure they will recone it if you give them the proper documentation. However, I may be mistaken.

If you send them pics of the motor and serial number they will hook you up with whatever you need.
I'm going to call tomorrow to determine what exactly will be necessary, and if they will send out the recone or if I will have to send in the motor and/or basket.

I just emailed Scott a few days back for parts. He asked for pics which i provided and then he said he would get me whatever parts I needed. The process is much easier now that the whole recone mess has been clarified. Bump for you.

I E-mailed DD and was told "If you could provide us some photos of the woofers (serial number, bottom of the woofer, proof of purchase and etc), then we would be glad to help you out."

Hope this helps out.

Bump for a good guy =)

Thanks guys. I am going to call them up tomorrow. I do not have proof of purchase because this sub has been passed through several hands on the forum (djman37 traded 4 to bmxbikes for a pair of 9917s. BMXbikes sold them off, and trow100 bought one. I then traded him for my 9510. That's as far back as I know). I also do not have a serial number - is it printed on the woofer somewhere, or would it have been included only with the original sale?

They did not ask me for proof of purchase. I just told them I came across the sub used. The serial number is on a sticker inside the basket near the rim.

That's a clean *** box. Who made it?
Haha, yeah we did make a clean box.

Anyway fellas, I just got off the phone with Scott at DD. He says for a 9515 Dual 2 ohm recone, it would only be $95 + shipping. The only stipulation he said was that you emailed in some pics of the motor, etc. Quite frankly, that is a lot less than I expected to pay, and I am honestly thinking about just reconing this bish.

However, if you want it, I'll sell it for $225 + shipping with the 15" basket. That way, you can have a working 9515 for close to $350 depending on how close you live to me and DD.

wow very good deal....

to my understanding the issue with recones was only for the recone kits they were selling. You can still and always been able to send it in to get it reconed. again if you were wanting to recone it yourself that is when you would need to send them a pic of the motor and such
