up for sale is the altec lansing avs500 4.1 surround sound system for computers. ive been using this for the past 3-4years id say and its done me well, but i just recently built myself a complete HTPC and upgraded to a sweet 6.1 system. 4.1 never really took off since 5.1 came in and stole the thunder, but if you watch movies and play games on your computer its a nice system. it gets loud and the bass is pretty tight. i think its rated at 85watts RMS, 4 satelite speakers and the sub. looking for 20bucks+ship. condition is almost new with maybe a scratch or two on the speakers and some dust here and there, but otherwise in like new condition. ship should be cheap as i work for fedex with the sweet employee discount so dont worry about that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. pm me with your zip code and let me know!

do u need a special sound card for it since t here are 4 speakers?

if you have a computer built within the past 2 years id say you'll have the necessary outputs on your computer for the speakers. the speakers are connected by 2 3.5mm jacks. if your computer says it has a built in 5.1, 6.1, 7.1 sound card 4.1 will work exactly the same way as 5.1+ just you only will connect 2 jacks compared to 3 for 6.1 and 4 for 7.1.
