I have decided to sell my 7998. The preouts went out on it last week and I bought a x200 to replace it until I sent it off to Alpine. I've decided to just sell it instead of going through the trouble since I like the x200 so much. (And I want to get the Imprint unit for it)
The face pops out and retracts fine, and all the lights display work perfectly. The CD transport also works flawlessly.
The preouts can only be heard if you turn it all the way to 35 (Max) but only slightly, so I figure the preamp section went out.
Alpine wants a $95 flat fee to fix it, and like I said I'm happy with the x200.
The wires on the harness are short but definately usable. (I just uninstalled it two days ago.) Cage is included, but used of course. Trim ring is also included. I am keeping the remote to use with the x200.
I can send detail pics for any interested buyers.
$150 or straight trade for a PXA-H100 IMPRINT Processor.
