My daily driven SC400 is up for sale, complete with everything in it. I thought about ripping the stereo out before I sold it but I figured I would give you guys dibs on the car with the stereo still installed since you are audio enthusiasts. I am going to rip the entire stereo out of the car in a week and a half if it doesn't sell. The car will then be sold with just a simple CD player and a pair of coaxes.
First of all, here is a link to the install thread that I started on DIYMA quite a while ago: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/diyma-build-logs/53859-sis-sc400-install.html It shows most of the work that has been done on the car.
The stereo in the car consists of the following:
Eclipse 7200 mkII dead-head with 8V preamp outputs and copper chassis.
RF 3Sixty.2 with a PDA to control it in the center console.
Remote volume control of the subwoofers via the factory volume knob on the left of the center console (the work can be seen in the install log above).
Tara Labs Spectrum 3a interconnects running from the Eclipse back to the RF 3Sixty.
After the 3Sixty there are five Audio-Magic silver RCA's running to the amps complete with Audio-Magic Y-splitters.
2 Sundown Audio 50.4 amplifiers
2 Sundown Audio 1000D amplifiers
2 Stereo Integrity Mag v4 subwoofers in 0.8 cubes each located in the spare tire well.
The fronts are ScanSpeak Revelator 7" mids with Morel MDT-12 neo tweeters.
The stereo components in this vehicle are worth ~$3500.
The front grilles need to be finished/made and the amp rack beauty panel needs to be made. I lost interest in finishing it off because I knew I was going to sell this car.
As for the car itself, it is a Lexus SC400 model, which means it is powered by a V8. The car has 180k miles on it. The gauge cluster shows 140k because I installed a new cluster about a month ago. The seats have typical wear (side bolsters are a bit worn a bit). The entire center console has been replaced including the arm rest. The lower control arms were replaced about 2 years ago by a Toyota technician. It has Eibach Pro-Kit springs and KYB struts, bright white HID headlights, and the resonators have been removed on the exhaust so it's just a hint louder than a stock exhaust. The car is also equipped with big LS brake rotors up front and it rides on 18x8.5" wheels up front and 18x9.5" wheels in the rear. The front bumper has been re-sprayed recently along with the emblem deletion and new front lip. Please excuse the pictures, as it has been raining for a week here and the car was dirty when these pics were taken:
It gets 20 mpg in city and 24 mpg on the highway. The car uses no oil, does not overheat, etc. I also use Mobil 1 synthetic oil in it.
Now for the bad: The left rear tire needs to be replaced and balanced and soon the others will need to be replaced. I do NOT recommend buying the same tires that I have on the car (Falken Azenis) because the compound is too soft and the weight of the car makes the tires wear pretty fast.
The passenger side B-pillar has some paint missing.
The hood paint began cracking about 6 months ago.
Price: $6500 firm. I do not want any trades. I live in the Charlotte NC area (zip 28216). It is easiest to email me or call the office at (888) 821-9066.
