Sold FS: 15" Orion HCCA D2 4 inch coil beast

OK up for sale i have my orion hcca 15". its a d2. it was bought from an authorized dealer for 600 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif but it was used in a honda accord trunk on an audioque 2200d. it has a 4 inch coil and is field reconable. all you have to do it undo a few bolts and slide a new recone in. here are the specs. asking price is 300 plus shipping. the only flaw with it is that it has a few very small scuff on the surround. in the accord it hit a 146.3 with only like 1800 watts.

How's the SQ on this? and how big of a box does it need?

the sq is the same as teh btl and the aq. it gets loud and sounds decent doing it

These subs are sick! I have listened to 6 of them 15" D4's in a dodge ram last year and the Meca judge even commented how they and great SQ appeal to them for what is supposed to be SPL sub.

his amps where 6 HCCA D5000's sealed enclosure and hit 151.7 at the headrest with a T/L.

I would if it was a D4. Thats exactly what I was thinking when I saw this sub. I'm afraid to try my amp at 1ohm daily.

what freq. did you hit the 146.3? How big a box did you have it in then? I'm pretty interested but I'm debating with myself on how much trunk space i wanna sacrifice. Sorry for all the questions but I got one more while I'm at it. Ive had a 12w7 in a 3.5 cube box, a couple 12w3v2s in a memphis box, and a soustream dbx in a box made at a shop in not sure of the specs. My w7 killed the lows and was just decent on the higher, and the w3s and the soundstream were were real nice on the higher and just decent on the lows so im trying to get the best of both worlds here if possible. Think its doable with this sub?

i believe it was mid 40's. but this thing slams the lows. it has 4 inch peak to peak excursion. i had it in a box tuned to 27hz and it was a low end monster. it also get really loud on the highs as well. the box was 3.5 at 27hz.

I wasn't trying to imply it was "all that" just stating what it hit. I thought that it was decent for subs that were only getting half there wattage at best. But I could be wrong.

no i was just exectiong more from it. but they were in a sealed enclosure which these subs arent designed for. its still loud though, it just has more in it

Actually the original manual and the Orion forum admin preached that these where for sealed applications only

was that for daily use? Cause the truck that I was refering to was for daily use not Bass racing. The enclosure was only like 1.5 CF / sub.
