Fried my Viper 2500d

Well... im guessing its because of the cold weather we got hit with today. I came out of school and started up my car, turned my HU the whole way down, since i didnt think it would be real good to bump an 18xxx in near freezing weather. Before i was even out of the parking lot i heard my fuse snap and saw smoke in my rearview mirror. I pulled my seat down and smoke was pouring out of the corners of my amp so i ripped the power wire out. Smells like complete shit... like BAD. I opened up the amp when i got home... its toasted. I pulled my 18xxx outa my car and have it sitting in my garage now so... I noticed people on here are fixing their stuff and i was wondering if this is fixable? I highly doubt it since it looks like a lot more burnt than i originally thought did. I will post pictures in a reply after this topic. If you need pictures closer up i can try my best... just tell me what to take them of. If not fixable...would i be able to send it somewhere for a basic rebuild? i paid like $350 shipped for it so i bet they could use the case atleast? Thanks for any help...

I would say it can be fixed, but if it would be worth it is another story.

holy crap man those output transistors are TOASTED. were you running really low impeadance or just not a good electrical system or what? There's a guy near me who does an amazing job fixing amps he would do it for $120, not sure if that online place whatever its called would do it well

Any ideas? Anyone know a site to put an AVI video on? you can tell better damage from the video than pictures. I couldnt get real close or it would blur

Not good electric.... waiting for my 0 guage to get here i only had 6 guage in. 120 doesnt sound that bad... is that including shipping? Did you really like talk to him or are you guessing?

i bought it off forums...was a refurb though. I emailed ikesound cause i dont know if they do repairs or not.

I wouldnt let ikesound repair my amp. I asked if you bought it from them, because their refurbed amps have a six month warranty through Directed. You may call Directed and see what they say, as well.
