Free monitor drivers?

Well... i dont honestly know what happened. Anytime i change my resolution on my desktop to over 640 x 800 it goes to complete scrambled garbage that you cant read, so i uninstalled my video card and whatnot. Well now that the videocard is reinstalled, i can read, everything is huge... and my monitor is just coming up as plug and play, i cant find the CD with the drivers

its an Acer 1912 19" lcd .... ive been searching around and cant find a site with free drivers at all, they have to be out there.... i could find it if i searched for any other kind of hardware. I found a couple sites that made you pay like $7, and i think i might have to do that if nobody else knows anything... if i can find the site again. ermm nevermind... i dunno what the hell is wrong with it now. Im too frustrated to work on it tonight, i have a report due tomorrow and it needs to be typed.... life.... gahh
