Free air popping noise

12" XFL makes popping noise when running free air, continuous clicking... Coils look great, read fine, etc. Could it be shifted? spiders?

Anyone with some ideas?

Yup, that's the problem... is it possible to heat the surround and take everything off to inspect it more/repair?

The coils are fine so I'd rather not have to pay for a new recone but if I have to I will

once you take apart thats it will need a recone.

Where is it coming loose? At the basket or triple joint? If its at the basket slap some E6000 or goop on it and call it good.
