Fr125s 6.5

Excellent drivers...

How to power them?

I'd want to say a nice EL34 or KT88 push pull setup for about 30W per side, but I doubt that would be the popular choice around here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Since you have so much subbass...I would probably recommend other drivers, actually. Like Adire Extremis midwoofers and some nice tweets. If you can afford them.

A pair of Klipsch Heresy II's in good condition go for around $450 on Ebay, in excellent condition.

You could snap up a pair of Forte II's for around $550-600, but you'd have to look around.

For the subwoofer amp, something like a QSC or Behringer Europower would work well.

If you're going two channel, there is plenty of vintage gear out there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

NAD, Marantz, Onkyo, Sansui, Denon...

i just got a pair of heresy II's...

Now should i get this Crown fot the xxx.http://cgi.ebay.com/CROWN-AUDIO-XLS-602B-DJ-POWER-STEREO-AMP-AMPLIFIER-602a_W0QQitemZ7357979772QQcategoryZ64451QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

That's a nice amp.

Expect to do a few mods for the fan noise (like maybe buying a new cooling fan, or installing a new resistor in line with the fan power to slow it down). Most pro audio amps like that come with rather noisy fans from the factory, but that can be solved.

There was a rather nice FR125 bipolar speaker using the WR125 on the back...

This amp pushing em (no fans):

You could just put the amps in the closet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Sounded sexy to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif a very interesting sound to them... There were better there -- but they had some very nice qualities //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Ever sit between a pair of bipolar speakers? it sounds funny //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif in a cool sort of way

Me likey old Klipsche's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Heritage Series > all other Klipsch.

La Scalas, Klipschhorns, Cornwalls, Forte's, Heresy's, Choruses...these are man's man speakers, speakers that command attention and make women and lesser men cower before you.

Seriously, they're very high efficiency (Heresy II's are 93dB/W, IIRC) and sound great.

Some of the best corner horns ever built...I'd love to get my hands on a pair someday, though first I need a room large enough to do them justice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
