four digital designs 6.5" subwoofers

L7s have more cone area than rounds of the same size. Think about that for a bit.
I'm not saying cone area is everything. But it def plays a roll and more of a roll than power handling and motor force in many cases, not all but in many.

Obviously there's a point where more motor force and power will overpower a larger cone area. But many times more cone area will allow you to get louder than more power or motor force which is less expensive because it means less drivers and less power (amps, battery, electrical)

May be cheaper to get more cone area, but I'd rather run a Sundown X-8 than Kicker L5.

Motor force is a big factor, actually. Not saying cone area isn't, but beefy underground 10's and 12's will out-perform main stream stuff.

I would rather run the x 8 as well.... But again I was talking about more equivalent subs.......
