Fosgate 1000bd / Hifonics Brutus 1606

SO i was just offered a trade. a year old fosgate 1000bd that was very well taken care of for my brand spankin new hifonics bxi 1606. anyone have any opinions on this trade. the guy says he is just after more 1 ohm stability. in fact i know he is selling the amp as is and planning on buying one even if it is not a trade with me. any opinions on getting used equipment?

ive never hear anyone downtalk an RF product....i'd say go for it if the power rating is the same....i didnt look up the specs for the models

well, 1k watts versus about 1300-1400 off the Brutus (even though its 1600w RMS, it prob runs a little lower). IMO i would go with the Brutus, because its brand new and will push a little more power out. That is, if your running a 1ohm load. BTW, what subs/sub is these for?

2 type r's - dual 2ohm so it will be a 2ohm load. does that change any opinions?? i have heard some people say that the 1000bd is one of the best amps ever made for my application. so i just wondered. it is rated at 1150rms x 2 at 2 ohm. compared to the 1100 rms of the brutus at 2 ohm. any new change of opinion??? the amp is flawless in physical appearence and looks like it was very well maintained.

I'm a big fan of the Fosgate amplifiers. Specifically the generation you listed above.

If he lives near you try to get him to test if it works. If it does I would go for it. Those BD1000s are BEASTS and have a tiny footprint...

1400+watts 14.4 v and its 75% to 85% efficient but mine is 86% ?
