For SPL 15" type R or 2x12" AQ HDC's

I'm asking this for a guy on YA who's not getting any help since this is a pretty specific question.

I suggested the HDC's, but I'm sure he wants more opinions than just mine...

Amp: kenwood Excelon 1200m monoblock)

Current sub: Alpine 15" type R is a dual 2 running at 4ohm giving it 800watss Rms

i want to get two 12"s and run it at 2ohms wich i wuld get 1,200 watts Rms to the to two 12"s s so wuld two 12" Hdc Audioque subs running at 600watts rms a piece slam harder and give me more bass/spl than my 15" Alpine??

If not then what two 12" subs (final 2ohm load) should i get that are geared towards SPL that will give me more bass than my current setup?? Dont want to buy anything and end up with less than i already have cuz il be f*****g pissed! My budget is in the $500-$600 range give or take a little. Other suggestions people gave me on 12s were... Sundown,DC Sound Labs, Soundstream, Diamond,Kicker Solobaric, Orion Hcca,Polk Audio.... Uggggh idk!?? Si many options but i want the most possible SLAM/SPL/BASS/HEARD FROM FAR AWAY/VIBRATE MY CAR APART for $600 max i can get! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

Well, I would go with the SDC2.5s before the HDC3s with that amount of power. DC and Sundowns also have very nice options. 2 12s is a bit more cone area then 1 15, so as long as they are in a good box should have no problem getting louder.

The other option is to spend that money on an amp that will push the Type R harder. Then you have more power down the road, should you want to upgrade the subwoofer.

u wont be getting much spl from 800 watts man but with that power id go with neither...go with 2 12 inch dcons

with that price i'd go with a pair of DD 1512s... rated at 500rms each, can take quite a bit of power and they get loud as hell. it's not hard to get 2 12's to be louder than a single 15 considering 2 12's have more cone area
