For all you people leaving because of newbies

How would you all feel if the respected forum regulars all ganged up and left when you were a newbie and didn't know any better?

Initially, we all came here to learn, and if we didn't have the forum vets to help us early on, we wouldn't be as knowledge as we are today. Sure, there are lots of dumb questions asked, and yes, a good amount of those questions can be answered by searching, but that's no reason to abandon the forum in my opinion. I'd rather muddle through a million ridiculous, stupid questions and help a kid build a good system instead of shopping at Best Buy rather than just stagnating along with my equals. But, to each his own.

i m just surprised at how some ppl are making 'bye' threads, i mean yeah the forum got worse imo, but i sometiems is better to help someone than to turn our backs to them.

I'm not going anywhere, i love this forum too much. I just feel myself getting more and more upset at all the numerous threads that could be taken care of with searching.

I'm starting to post on other forums, but i'm still gonna be here a majority of the time to answer posts i feel are worth replying to, or ones that i can reply to.

I agree, the forum isn't just going through a phase, it's expanding rapidly, and without the vets here, the forum will collapse. Part of the reason for the rapid growth of caraudio.com is that newbies can typically get good advice here. I'd hate to see that change.

I'm not a post ***** like some of you but I've been a member here for quite some time. Everybody has to start somewhere and caraudio.com happens to be that place. I remember when Zane,audiolife,ramos etc.. were gods on this forum and you don't see them much anymore. But I must say none of these respectable members started a "bye" thread because of noobs. I think it was nswartly and snova (if I'm wrong I'm sorry) when they joined they got like 500 posts OVERNIGHT in a worthless thread just talking to each other!!! In my opinion it no big deal but these are the same people who jump all over some "noob" for not using the search button or asking "dumb questions". I'm just venting I guess but please remember at one time or another YOU (whoever may be reading this) were a "noob" and probably didn't even know the search button existed

I only wanted the more experienced members to give the Noobs the same guidance that I got when I joined.

The 1st forum I ever joined collapsed because it mods and senior members all left. The noobs couldnt get their questions answered and also left.

Besides there is nothing forcing anyone to respond. If you think the question is beneith you then just skip it. A lot of noob questions as basic as they my be sometimes lead into very intellectual conversations.

Ive only been on this forum for about 2 months but I really enjoy the willingness of its members to help one another out.

this is just a suggestion ... but maybe someone should make a sticky that says seach or a sticky about a comparision of the main subs compared in threads? such as a main comparision between d2 xxx brahma l7 solo x w7 etc... i dunno if anyone would want to but its just a thought

You just gotta give people the knowledge, Sony has their old ES which, ahem, i have....and yes....sony does own....

but seriously, the only problem with the noobs now is that u get a whole lot of "what is better" or, "I have 200 for an amp, which one?" i mean, i would never ask a question without expecting a resultant answer to have some really different answer...people should be askin, "WHY is this one better"

And not once did I *EVER* complain about 'noob threads'...it's the countless, pointless threads and posts submitted by 'contributing' members that was in part my reason for severly cutting back, and removing myself from the opportunity to be re-voted as a moderator.

I like to think that I Moderated the forum well, and that I did my best to positively contribute to the forum- and I've had many people tell me that I did such things. Maybe if (hopefully when) the forum is in a better state of existance, I will return to posting on a regular basis.

snova....I apoligize (sp?) I guess I was wrong (that happened once before ;-) And I agree that you (and the couple of other active mods) did a great job!

I just really see no point to people "whining" and saying they are leaving. Seriously.....Whats the point? They want people to beg and ask them to stay? If you want to leave just do it. This place did fine before you and it will do fine after you.
