flexible curve

I tend to use tick wheels and carboard to trace. I don't trust myself to move the curve all over and stll keep it's shape. You can make a tick wheel pretty easy. Small disc of wood , drill a whole in the middle for a pencil //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i dont understand what your talking about, care to explain in more detail? haha

To get a good template , you need to be able to follow ( trace ) the contours accurately. Using a circle with the marking instrument in the middle , just simply rough cut some cardboard to the general shape you are tracing. Then lay it or tape it down so it doesn't move while you are tracing on it. Then pull out your tick wheel, put your marking instrument ( pen or pencil ) in the middle and simply roll the wheel along your contour making sure your marking instrument is writing on the cardboard. Keep the wheel in contact with the surface and once you are done, you will have a lovely contoured line drawn on your cardboard. Cut it out, and bask in the glory of a perfect cardboard template. Adjust if necessary, then trace it on wood and cut it out. You can actually buy a tick wheel , but they are so easy to make I never wasted the money on one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ahhhhhhhhh i got it now. that sounds easy enough.

i actually found the flexible curves though at Pearl arts and craft for 10 bux, its a ruler with a flexible yet stiff piece of metal on it, that bends and keeps it shape.
