i have 2 12's treo subs on a avionixx 2400m 1200 wrms my box is ported and i have alot of flex but if i close the port i have alot more flex do's this mean i am gettint more spl but it does not seem louder just more flex with it being sealed any help plz

i have two 12 inch treo subs on a avionixx 2400m that provides 1200 watts rms. my box is ported and i have alot of flex, but if i seal the enclosure by covering the port, i have alot more flex. does this mean i am getting more spl? because it does not seem louder, there is just more flex with it being sealed. does any one know what i should do?
