Well, im sure some of you have seen my threads and youtube vid's about my setup causing major dimming problems, I have solved this problem! I tried pretty much everything i could before trying this and it actually worked. Anyway, it happened by accident. I accidentally left my lights on at my girlfriends house and the car wouldn't start. So i used her dads battery charger and left it on 10a charge for about 30 min. Car started right up. I then started playing music when the car got warm and i noticed that i had BARELY any dimming at all, not even noticeable! I was like wait a min wtf? So basically my battery was charged at about 60-70% and my alternator for whatever reason wasn't actually charging it back up, it was just sustaining the 70% charge. SO i did a trickle charge over about 4 hours and the battery reads fully charged. Turned on my headlights and played at max volume and i have no dimming. So the real question is, how long will my full charge hold out now? 1 month, a half a year? anyway i thought i would share this just incase others are having similar problems. Here is my setup specs. Big 3 4 gauge wire to amp SOLID GROUND - sanded the shit out of the paint. 14.4 volts to amp 500w rms @ 4ohm 650 CCA battery -10 ~ 20 degrees depending upon the day.
