FI's BTL or BL

Okay, so here it is. You great people got me set of FI for my subs. I will be needing a daily driver. So, what do you think would be better overall for me, the BTL or the BL. I listen to a lot of techno and rap. Either way I will need a new amp or two, so power is not a concern yet. I want 4 15's.

Power is probably more of a concern than you think, because if you are running 4x15 BTLs you want over 12,000 watts, whereas 4x15 BLs and you are looking at around 6000-8000. 12k watts is a concern unless you have about $5000 to spend on amplification, alts, and batteries.

As I originally stated, power is of no concern. Cables have already all been changed out. I have two extra batteries. The alternator upgrade is of no real concern...father-in-law owns a shop that will do it for cheap. What I am more concerned about is wheather or not it will last for an everyday sub. How it will sound overall. etc. If the BL will suffice and still kill most everyone's vehicles in my area (not many good ones) then I will gladly suffice with that. I want something that I could easily compete with in small competitions without much worry.

uumm, i dont think you understand with the charging upgrades... if you run 8kw, then you will need a 300 amp alt-$450, probably 5 Kinetic 2400's-$800-1k, an multiple runs an lengths of 1/0 wiring-$200-400. plus the $1.5-2k for subs, another $1.5-2k for amps, then decent components to keep up with all the bass $250-400, then an amp for those $150-300. o, an installation an supplies $500-?? if you are married thats a lot of money blown on audio equipment. the subs last as long as the owner protects them. set your amps right an you wont have to worry about anything. you shouldnt jump in an want the biggest an baddest setup without researching the whole 9 an not just half of it...

You do have a point, that is a ton of audio. Money really is of no issue with me, but I should probably go with the BLs until I learn a lot more and get more into it. Maybe I will better understand all the hookups, power distribution, amps, etc.

4x15 BLs will blow away anyone you know, unless you know some serious SPL competitors in which case you might still blow them away. As far as alternator upgrades, I don't think one 300amp alternator can keep up with the 12,000 watts you would need for BTLs. I have been told you need roughly 70amps of alternator per 1000 watts. 4 BTLs is almost certainly overkill unless your goal is to seriously compete. Just my opinion...
