first time DIYer for computer.

so im sitting at work today and i realize not only do i have a set of shitty speakers on my PC at home but i also have a bunch of pioneer stereo equiptment sitting in a closet.

well im on parts express looking for some speaker parts and a (some) subwoofers to make a nice computer setup and as usual im getting crazy. i have 2 nice home audio amps so i have a little power to mess with. so in my shopping cart at parts express i have like 2 18s, a shit load of mids ect. then i realize i dont know a whole lot about anything other then subwoofers so i better consult with someone before i spend 300 bucks on shit i know nothing about.

so what do you guys think would make a good setup? ill obviously build all the engloser for this stuff myself. im looking to only spend about 300 bucks unless for a hundred or so more i can get something crazy. anyone else have eny experience with building a computer system?

on the PC its going on i mainly play soldier of fortune and stuff like. obviously im on CA.com so im a bass head as well so i wont mind my whole computer desk shacking when a grenade goes of in a game.

another quick question. the amp im using is a surround sound amp. i realized we had a whole surround sound system (minus the subwoofer) all boxed up. its nothing special just a few hundred dollar kenwood system. the amp is a 6 channel i have a right speaker, a center speaker and a left speaker leaving me with 3 other channels. can you bridge all 3 channels to get 300W to a sub?

Nooooo! But seriously, no. Home receivers have Ohm resistance limits just like car audio amps do. If I were you, I would spend the $300 on a really nice 7.1 system...like a gigaworks or Klipsh or something like that, that is designed for a computer. Some of those subwoofers are really beefy and the quality would be excellent for your computer.

Otherwise, your next bet is to find a powered subwoofer, or maybe DJ amps which are specifically designed to power subwoofers. Other than that, I have heard that you can power a car audio amplifier with a computer powersupply...but I don't know much about how to go about doing that.
