So far from what I've done with it I like it. Getting the mac device drivers that were meant for XP took some forcing to get working. Once I got the drivers set up everything was cool. Vista has not deleted any of my music or video ts files.

I'm running it on a macbook and it seems that vista uses about 2 times the resources that XP does. No matter, I've got 2 gigs of ram so it really is not an issue. Startup takes a little longer than xp.

I like Mac OSx alot but it just doesn't mesh so much with what I use my computer around the house for (mostly media sharing with the xbox). OSx is still way faster though for pretty much everything I do besides media. Vista is still quite different than the way mac os works (besides the whole widget/gadget thing). It is more like XP still as far as pc navigation goes. Visual similarities are there though. I think it is more appealing to the senses than mac osx. Some people may disagree but I don't really care what they think. It works fine for me so far.

LMAO i played with vista in 2005. Its still not any different, and yes MAC OSX gui is very alike windows as far as the graphical parts. Vista = ghey for now, I will stick to Windows Xp for a long while. My laptop can easily handle it, i actually have the developers version on a partition on my laptop but its ghey. I have dont some registry changes + gui changes and my Windows Xp looks identical to vista except it doesnt do gay stuff like delete files. . however i dont have that cool mirror effect that you get in OS X and Vista.

Vista cost $400.00 is BS, You can buy a Mac Mini for $100.00 More with all the software and a Apple OS!
And yes it will track and delete any files that are not legal to upload or share!

From what I seen of it, They copied Mac's new OS any how.

it will not delete anything, and itunes is worse about music than vista is so i dont know what your complaining about.

they did not copy osx at all, have you used either operating system, vista looks nicer than xp, and so does osx does that mean they copied it?

They didn't do a complete carbon copy of OSX, I'll give you that, but they did, how should I put this, borrow, some of the ideas. Like OSX's spotlight, now Vista has virtually the same thing, there's a bunch of other stuff they "borrowed", if you go on you tube, there's a journalist from the NY times that has some pretty comical videos about the stuff Microsoft "borrowed". Also, Vista does have an eerily similar look to it when compared to the far superior OSX.

youve obviosly never put any time into product design and development, you take good ideas and leve bad ones - thats how you get good products. osx was sucessfull, so they used some of what was good from it.

wrong on everything. 1st if you want to pay for vista its only 250 for the ultimate upgrade. and you can do a clean install with it thanks to ms ****ing up in their codeing. or you can just pirarte it. and 2nd vista will never delete anything off your pc. that was in the plans a long time ago. that was changed because its illegal. you should read a little bit more next time before bashing something you know nothing about. a few things did come from mac but dont forget about linux which mac and windows have taken alot from.

The clean install with the upgrade is a developer Hack, Not a Kernel fault in the compiled Code!

Stealing Vista will not work this time around. The old Key Gen, Product Key Viewers, and Product Key Finder will not work as well. When you go online it checks for pirated installs and will ask you to call Customer Support if it finds a problem and it then stops all but basic functions.

Since you stole it your stuck with all that time you lost installing it!

Yes Vista will delete files that are uploaded outside a class C network IP, Read MS privacy statement when Media Player 11 is installed. It's not illegal for MS to delete files when you agree to the end user terms! I dare you to try and Delete MP 11 from the OS. I'll save you time you can't. It's part of the OS and loads core files on install which you have no control over. The only choice you have is to make it the default player!

Linux is a light version of UNIX, Not Windows. Mac uses the UNIX based Kernel. UNIX is a Mutli Processer Main Frame OS. It is a open source code OS which depends on outside support from users and delevelopers!

Oh and by the way, I wrote Kernel code for Windows, Linux and Unix for 5 years.

As for me being a MAC fan means not having to buy 20 third party apps to do anything other then check E-Mail is fine with me. It's better then 10 reboots, Lock ups, 500 Error reports a week to a site that goes no where suites me fine. I'm not a unpaid trouble shooter for MS.

You can install Boot Camp or Parallels. Boot Camp alllows you to boot-up in Windows or OSX on any Core 2 DUO machine. You can run Windows games on a Mac Pro with a small performance hit.

Apple is working on updated drivers for Open GL and DirectX. Last I read they are to be released this Spring.

Well I have, Being that I worked on MS OS's from DOS 3.0 to Windows XP.

From what you just wrote, If I take a "Good Idea" like the Ford F40 and put the Engine in a Corvette it should work just as good. Problem with that is it was never "Designed" to work in a Corvette.

Short cuts like this get you no where, But behind. MS has been behind for years. The copy or buy out approach is getting them further behind.

The fact that Apple Is now using Intel Chips puts MS in a hard spot to wiggle out of. You can now run Windows/OSX on the same machine and not worry that your PC will lose Half its value in Six months.

Apple Sales are up 40% for people moving from PC's to Mac's in that last Quarter. Thats a large chuck of New PC sales gone. The last time I looked, There are more people signing up to learn how to Use Macs then Windows.
