Well...here it is. I know it's not near the quality of some of you guys, but it is my first attempt... the box is 12 cubes tuned to 34hz. and is anxiously awaiting my '05 re xxx's from fedex (used to have mismatch sx's, lol)!

i just started building boxes a little over a year ago, and since then I've built 10-12 boxes, lol! I've never bothered to cover them before, 'cause I figured it was too difficult. Carpet looks too plain, and fiberglass/paint is a friggin artform that I haven't come to grips with attempting yet.

Soooo...I figured why not vinyl? There were some issues with the corners, and such, but all in all I think I did OK for my first time. I wanted to do a raised-lettering type of thing on the front, 'cause it's just so **** much real-estate there. but I couldn't figure out what to put there(xxx logo, chevy bowtie, gang affiliation, etc.), so I just left it blank...

Lemme know what u guys think...BTW this will be going behind the third-row in an '01 'burban.

Looks great for a 1st timer. Advice, make end caps for the sides instead of carpet. Make them in black vinyl. Would look tits.

Yeah...I wanted to do just that...Everything I've read said to do a small 1/4" board on the ends and then wrap in vinyl/carpet, but my box is exactly 49" wide, and it barely fits the back of the 'burban as-is. I reallly didn't wanna have a fitment issue.

Besides, nobody's really gonna see the sides too much anyway. Thx for the tip though. My next box I will make proper provisions for stuff like that, along with flush-mounting the subs...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

kinda gives me an idea for somethin im doing next.....what adhesive ya use?
3M 90...@ $13 per can!! I finally ran out after 3 cans and said **** it, and bought some durcoat(sp.) for $3.99 per can, and it seemed to work the exact same, lol! Guess you don't always get what you pay for, but you **** sure pay for what you get!!

I'd do .5" MDF side panels, attatch them temp... flush trim them... round them over... take them off and wrap them in vinyl.

Then, use silicone on the back side to attatch to the box. Tape them on, let dry for 12-24hours... VOILA!

What he said ^

what amp/s will u be using

Man...****!! You hit a sore spot in my life right now!! I don't friggin' know! I have an autotek mm4000.1d, and I wanted to do another one, but sadly they're not strappable.

Right now, I'm trying to trade someone for a bigger amp, but nobody has anything they're willing to part with (hell...I'll add up to $5-600 for the right amp).

I'm gonna run 'em with the autotek until something better comes along. Only 1300-1400 watts each, but it's all I got right now.

A DDZ1A would be sweet, or stetsom 7kd or that big cadence one. *sigh* - still lookin'...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I would go with the DDZ1A, just need the moola.

yeah that's my #1 choice right now...I heard that they can do 7500+ watts @ 1 ohm!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif on the right electrical. Louisiana crx has one at a great price, but I don't think he'll do layaway, lol! Plus, I gotta sell this autotek first...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
