That will be entirely dependant on the end user.

Some people like the sound of a sealed sub better and some like the sound of a ported enclosure better.

They both have inherent advantages and disadvantages and our tastes may not mirror yours so it's really up to you to decide.

 
well i like trance n rap... i want it to hit the lows n be able to keep up with the fast beat of techno n trance n i really want a 12 since its only gonna be one.... but will a tenn be bter n hit as hard?

 
Get a 10" L7! uses a small enclosure but has almost the cone area of a 12"

As I haven't heard Kicker's CVX personally I couldn't say for certain (this is assuming as per your original post that the CVX is definitely the driver you're going to buy) but I have heard pretty much nothing but good things about it from those that have.

Any decent driver in an appropriate enclosure on adequate power can perform well.

I wouldn't doubt that the CVX would be an exception to that rule.
