I've owned a 15" BL w/1500 watts and it really wants more power than that. Don't get me wrong it was a great woofer but I felt like I wasn't getting everything out of it. That's why I bought a 15" HDC3. I have yet to hook it up as its still sitting on my floor in its box.

I bet they'll be d*mn close in Output. The BL got loud, just not as loud as I thought for what I payed for it (could also be it needed more power).

That's high, but not too much higher compared to the Bl's - 38 hz. I think all that means though is that the HDC3 will be even less of an SQ sub, but if you get an HDC3 and 2kw you aren't really looking for the sub to blend in with the rest of the system anyway.

yes the bl needs alot more power than 1500w. i had the same issue. the suspension is way to stiff to only be a 1000w rated woofer.

these are specs on brand new woofers, not broken in woofers like you see from others. Dj says he will put in broken in specs as soon as he gets one that has been put through its paces. i would expect an Fs of about 33-35 on the 12 after breaking in.

Well I ordered the hdc312 today once it gets here ill post up its comparison to the BL. It wont be really to detailed but Ill tell you which gets louder and sounds better off my sundown 1500d

im thinking of switching to HDC3s from BTLs instead of reconing the BTLs (will save me 200bucks)
