i did my searching before asking this. has to do with fiberglass resin. where do you buy this stuff? i went to walmart and looked. exactly what do i need to resin the corners of my box?

you only need to buy fiberglass resin, no mat needed. i'd buy extra hardeners so the resin dries faster.

btw: my boy passed on those amps; not sure i pmed you a while back or not, if not , my bad.

I just use the fiberglass matting found at Autozone. $4.99 for an 8 cubic foot sheet. The resin is about $10 for a pint which is more than enough.

thwre was two different kinds of fiberglass resin, the jelly kind and the regular, i grabbed the jelly as it seemed easier to apply. so now how do i apply this to the cornrs. any help would be grateful, thanks.

i just wipe mine on like paint. i heard if you wipe with the flow of the air from the port you gain .001 db's

It will help with flexing but will definitely seal her up. Just use one layer of mat dont over soak it though if you have a roller that's a plus especially on all of the flat surfaces your doing.

Resin will only seal and maybe ( read as very slightly ) smooth airflow . Won't gain any strength from resin by itself. Mat and or cloth + resin = added strength //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if your just trying to seal the box then just brush on straight resin.if you want strength add matt.for corners i found the woven works better then the strainded stuff(it just falls apart).

THe woven stuff like is sold at walmart and auto parts stores is fiberglass cloth, the stranded stuff is fiberglass mat. Cloth is good for conformaing to curves and such , mat is good for quick build up.
