I dont really like all that unnecessary bass...i prefer low and tight with authority...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.giffor rap i would too. listening more to rock, i'd do the sealed 15
lmk...will a 12 ported play more tight and get lower than a 15 sealed? and have the ability to get louder? i only have a total of about 3cf including sub and port displacement...*scratches head*
im just gonna hold my tongue after that comment and cleanly exit the thread...

I'm going to follow 1meanGTA's lead on this...r&b sounds good when u got bang btw.
im talking about controlled loud bass and not just boom boom boom...I'd prefer an IDMAX...
But you're awfully confusing...

The ME could take at LEAST double that power ported or sealed. I've been running a Tantrum 1200.1 to mine for the past 6 months and for the year before that I was running a Hifonics BX1000D to it. The ME is definately comfortable with over 1000 watts and I really have no idea why they tested it with only 500 watts in both the ported AND sealed tests.edit - wow i just noticed they tested the me with 500 watts? does it not like power ported?
I don't know, could have not liked it mechanically in that enclosure for some reason...I was on the other side of the garage at the time they were burp testing the Me. But I know I was throwing ~800W musically at it during my review, and it didn't show any signs of weakness...The ME is definately comfortable with over 1000 watts and I really have no idea why they tested it with only 500 watts in both the ported AND sealed tests.
With a sealed 18"! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifI still don't see how you can beat a sealed 15 for tight lows...
I dunno... in the test session's driver notes for the ME, it says "Woofer was limited to 1700 watts during SPL burp testing due to it nearing the thermal limit."I don't know, could have not liked it mechanically in that enclosure for some reason...I was on the other side of the garage at the time they were burp testing the Me. 30 hz sine wave on the Tantrum FTWHave you burped the Me at a kilowatt or more?

would u say an ME in 3cf sealed can handle a zx1000.1 all day?? Would an IDMax in 2.5cf sound louder and get just as low ported, 34hz?I dunno... in the test session's driver notes for the ME, it says "Woofer was limited to 1700 watts during SPL burp testing due to it nearing the thermal limit."
I think that the ME reaches its thermal limits before its mechanical and its probably very hard to make this woofer bottom out.
30 hz sine wave on the Tantrum FTW
