Feds disrupt skinhead plot to assassinate Obama

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal agents have broken up a plot by two neo-Nazi skinheads to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives said Monday.
In court records unsealed Monday in U.S. District Court in Jackson, Tenn., federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school in a murder spree that was to begin in Tennessee. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of ATF's Nashville field office, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

The men also sought to go on a national killing spree after the Tennessee murders, with Obama as its final target, Cavanaugh told The Associated Press.

"They said that would be their last, final act — that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama," Cavanaugh said. "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying."

About to say, that rifle looked like a .308 CETME (the cheaper version of the gun you mentioned). Accuracy like a sniper rifle, with semi-automatic capabilities to unload into a crowd after the shot. Pretty nice, my brother has one.

could be an fn fal too... probably just a chinese knock-off... but still, it could cause some damage. rifle issued to me was a M-24 .308 with zeiss scope... remington action mccmillan stock. i could hit a moving target at 600 yards... still target 1,035 yards.

Maybe once he becomes president that's the case, but I had an easy opportunity to assassinate him just a few weeks ago. Was staying at the Millenium Hotel in downtown St. Louis right by the arch and he was giving a speech at the arch less than a mile away. There was no security at my hotel, I could have snuck a rifle up to the room without trouble. He was giving the speech in the open in front of a HUGE crowd.
Now after he's president (he will be president, the powers that be already picked him; mccain is a too obvious fall guy, did you pay attention to kerry at all?) it might be different with better security.
