i know there have been several people in this board who have had subs broken by fed ex, and i know ive seen damaged xxx threads, well i got a question to all hte people that have been through this process.
I shipped my xxx12 and sold it to a member here, i build a **** crate for the sub and even covered the cone with a mdf board screw to the board bellow that, turns out sub never got to the buyer and he called turns out the package was DAMAGED, so i called today and i spoke with a very helpfull lady at fed ex and told me to file an insurance claim. I asked her if she wanted me to get a pricing sheet of the sub she said yes , i told her the amount and she said what did i write in the insurance claim when i shipped it, i wrote 300$ cause thats what it was bought for , but obviously the driver cost more like 400$.
The lady said that usually they give you what amount you wrote down in the receit, thing is that i wrote down what i sold it for not whats worth.
Does anyone know if im stuck with 300$ for sub thats is no longer produced? has anyone been in a similar situation?
Oh and the note on the package said something like the damage no longer usable , funny cause the only part that was exposed was the magnet and the frame, i wonder how they ****ed up steel. Oh and i told them if she can send me the package back, the only part on **** xxx that can be damaged is the cone really so i hope i can get at my 400$ and recone it for like 100$.
