FatMat?!?!

second skin is one of the best.

I ordered 100sq ft of Second skin(for the doors and rear panels) and 100ft of edead(for the floor....I think I did about 3-4 layers) the edead is the new butyl based

They are both good but you can tell by the feel of the second skin its a little better

I just recently started my deadening project and only have the trunk done in 1 layer of FatMat, which is just on the floor in the trunk and an entire 40sqft package of Second Skin on the rear panels, wheel wells, underneath the rear deck and inner panels. I will say the SS product cut my hands up, to where the FatMat didn't. SS was a lot easier to mold though and both stick about the same as far as I could tell. I want to do another layer, but I want to get the doors done and the roof and floor. So we shall see after that. Biggest thing about putting this stuff on is it is such a timely procedere.

I say FatMat is fine unless you live in a real warm climate such as Arizona or the likes.

I use fatmat and dynamat at the shop, The fatmat is every bit as good as dynamat extreme! We have never had any problems with it sticking, even when it gets down to -20 below.

^^ i never cut myself using SS, i found is very easy to work with as well as the spectrum.

i highly recommend the stuff.

a few of my friends have used fatmat, its seemed to go alright for them.

I use fatmat in the jeep. Had some problems with it adhering, even after cleaning the surface with acetone. For some of the spots that wouldnt stick, I used liquid nails .... that was a bad move, since it melts the fatmat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

All in all, its not a bad product. The price definately is its major selling point.

I just used rubbing alcohol to prep my surfaces. Let it dry for like 2-5 mins, slap it on there. Does real good. Only problem I've ever had was when I was laying it on the inside of the door skin... It's a bugger to get a fat american hand/roller inside the door panels of an import //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

fat mat has poor customer service. i ordered fat mat to do the rex. after 3 weeks no fat mat i called the company time & time again. after several days of calling finally got in touch with some one. they told me that they did not have it & did not know when they would have it. they did not let me know any thing about not having it. they just did not send. i told them i did not appreciate them not letting me know they did not have it when i ordered it. i canceled the order and went with dynamat ex. have been very pleased with the dynamat ex.

You might have called when the company was going out of business (changing ownership)...

I had 0 problems about 3 years ago with almost 800sq ft ordered from them to do my Yukon and 4 other SUV's here in town...
