I've got a 2006 model Rockford Fosgate T10001bd amp powering two 2nd gen Alpine Type R 12s that are 500w rms 12s. I'm running 4 gauge ofc Rockford Fosgate wire for the power wire and for the ground wire I have a 0 gauge ofc stinger wire. I'm running a deka intimidator Agm battery and I have a 160amp alternator and I did the big 3 wiring upgrade with 4 gauge ofc Rockford Fosgate wire. When it's hot outside around 75 or warmer and I pound the system at full tilt the fan on the amp comes on, is that normal? I'm thinking it's coming on cause I'm getting the amp hot, I know I probly should be running 0 gauge for the power wire and I'm going to eventually get 0 gauge in there for the power wire. The reason I have 4 gauge is cause I was told the amp I have wouldn't accept 0 gauge then I find out that's for the newer t1000's and that the older style will take 0 gauge. So I bought 3 feet of 0 gauge and put that on the ground cause I know the ground is most important. I figured the Agm battery and the big 3 upgrade would help make up for having the 4 gauge on the power wire but maybe that's not enough and I need to get 0 gauge in there asap. I just don't want to hurt this amp and I notice the fan will come on pretty quickly when it's warmer outside and I'm pounding the subs at full tilt.
