False floor/securing box in jeep cherokee

Hi there, I have a 98 cherokee in which Im thinking about putting a false floor in from the back of the front seats to the rear hatch(its a four door). Well how should i go about this? i was thinking about using two by fours or something the create a level plane from the back part above the gas tank, to where it drops down behind the front seats. So should i run a bolt from the false floor down to the floor or frame of the jeep? and also another question, if i do this should i just bolt my sub box to the false floor? thank you, and sorry for being so long winded

You could either bolt through the floor or use some angle brackets to secure your 2x4's. When I did my false floor we also used 2x4's simply out of convenience but we didn't secure it down with anything. Having the subwoofer enclosure on top of it was enough weight to keep it from going anywhere but this was in a trunk. As far as securing your enclosure to the floor I would probably use angle brackets for that as well. If you just use straight bolts you won't have access to them from the outside...

so id you just run a bolt through the floor, you were saying i wouldn't have access to it on the outside, but wouldn't i need to put a nut on the end of it, to hold it down?

What about using angle brackets and the seat bolts and bolt the 2x4's to the floor using the original seat bolts? That way you have it secured and don't have to drill new holes. Then use angle brackets to mount the box to the floor.

like extend the seat bolts and run those into the two by four and use angel brackets to attach the wood to it?
