Yes, that is how they are designed, but that can break once they get very old. I had a 98 Honda Accord coupe that did it. I wasn't use to automatics and there were occasions where it would do exactly as shown above in parking lots...

Well it was an automatic...and all of the automatics I have owned wont even let you pull the key out if youre not in park. Did have flat tires on drivers side though so most likely hit some curbs or something lol. Either way don't drink and drive, I got a DUI at 21 so I can speak from experience, it sucks and is very expensive. Unless you're a dumb*** it only takes one to learn your lesson.
