Not positive but I believe for one it reduces the oxygen between the wires on the voice coil which give better power handling and response.

The only thing I realy need is a sweet sounding 4ch amp. I had all a/d/s/ old school stuff and sold it for this equipment. It was too much for me (I guess I am too old). I would consider a Sundown 100.4 just to atleast hear it. I have very picky musical taste. I like clean natural sound, not too harsh not too flat. I still have my a/d/s/ 336is fronts and S8 in the rear doors (and 5.1 a/d/s/ home theater including MV80T's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif). and too think, I sold my McIntosh car stuff so I could have time alignment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif Wish I had it back now. Just give me front stage and a simple sub and I would be in sonic heaven.
