****it you guys, i just installed my new sub box in my bimmer and it sounded great, but then my friend rolled up in his new car(rice-burner) it came with a kenwood deck, clarion 4 channel amp and 1 10" jbl sub(one of the 25$ variety), but he turned it on and that **** sub thumped really tight like, not boomed, that is what i wanted my subs to do. What are some reasons that this sub does it and mine dont, my subs sound really boomy and stuff. he cant hear his in the car as much mind you, but any tips on gettin my subs to thump like that?

what kind of subs are you using? amp power might have something to do with it, but I'm thinking that the biggest factors for tightness and clean bass are

Le (inductance) of the voice coil(s)

and

Qtc (damping factor of the sealed box and driver combined, depends on the qts value of the driver and volume of the box)

So, what subs are you using and I could help you more.

If you want tight *** bass that pounds, then get an adire audio brahma and put it in sealed. Only problem is that it's 369 for a 12.

i have 2 of the 15 brahma's...heard em sealed and ported. in a good ported box, you wont tell a difference in sq...only output down low. i gotta tell you, 2 15 brahmas in a 6.6 cube box tuned to 30 hz with 2200 watts of dei power (strapped 1100d's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif)...is friggin insane. never heard anything that was that tight, that that low, and that smooth all in one.

here's a review i did: http://forum.soundillusions.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14463

*edit* dont get me wrong...this is not an sq only setup...we took that bad boy to an abandoned walmart parking lot. full volume wangin...sq port. OUCH! i jumped out of the truck cuz it hurt so **** bad. if you wanna keep your hearing...and you get a brahma, DONT TOUCH THE VOLUME, OR YOU WONT HAVE YOUR HEARING FOR LONG!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif
