Extending wireless coverage

No I'm not trying to steal internet lol, I have a 15meg connection, but I'm always at my friend's place with my computer and she lives a little under a block away. I can get internet for up until about 100 ft from her house, so nothing spendy or much more distance is needed.

I just use a repeater to steal wifi from my dads house which is about a block away and across the street.

At least i do in the winter when i have line of site, by spring the trees grow back and i have to pay //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I've heard of the "pringles can" thing to make a directional antenna, is my wireless router is in my house, is there anyway to put an antenna like on top of the garage that can pick it up from the house and to the antenna? Sorry, I'm a huge noob when it comes to this stuff.

looks like an omindirectional antenna and normally those have vertical polarization not horizontal this would be a good geeky FAIL idea lawl

Easiest solution would be to go to the link i sent you

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062019&cp=&sr=1&origkw=mast&kw=mast&parentPage=search

buy that mount it on your house

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062033&cp=&sr=1&origkw=mast&kw=mast&parentPage=search

buy that

http://www.hyperlinktech.com/web/hg2412u.php

buy that

Then buy the pigtail

http://www.hyperlinktech.com/web/cable_radio_pigtails_detail.php?Order=3break50&SKU=CA-RTPNMA002

and u will need an N male and a N Female connector to crimp your coax with...

plug it in and your ready to go ...

OR you can do POE (power over ethernet)

and just mount your WRT in a outdoor weather rated box and just buy the pigtail and antenna
