experiences?

Can someone please tell me about there experiences with the pioneer 800prs or the alpine 9887 before I buy one? I have been reading (or at least trying to read) comparisons and reviews but all they are is someone bashing on this hu or that hu and quality useful information is hard to find.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I can say the same about that pioneer. Bought mine installed it properly had massive alt noise so I though the picto fuse was blow. Grounded the rca's still got noise. Installed a alpine head unit a day later not one problem. I had the 9886 and loved it but wanted the 9887. My opinion get the alpine. Also the pioneer even had some annoying things like flashing back and forth between lighting the picture blue and than the background blue never liked that and too distraction at night. Get the alpine.

As much I hate to agree he is right. They make sexy decks, but the grounds are looser than Kim Kardashian. I've had to ground mine and even then when I turn it all the way up the subs get a dirty signal

thanks for all the info guys. i've scratched the pioneer due to those problems and the alpine can have a lower crossover point for the highs allowing me to run a midbass and 3 inch midrange. anyone know anything about the eclipse 7200mkII?

The funniest thing about this is that on another forum a guy keeps insulting anyone that says anything bad about pioneer. He says they are the best and keeps sending the same link about how there DD head unit got the best choice from cnet. He keeps saying that everyone that has problems with pioneer had install error and did not know what they were doing. It is pretty enjoyable to watch him make a fool out of himself.

haha, well, i did real a TON of threads where just bash one hu or another and it's really annoying to read. think im going with the alpine and it will be my first alpine so it'll be a new experience for me.

between the 7200 and 9887 its close, but i dont really think the eclipse is worth the extra 150$ that they typically cost.

I've had the 9887 and still want an Eclipse CD7100. It looks way better than Alpine and the CD7200. It's kind of hard to go back to a regular size radio after having a double din touchscreen. If you plan on running an Ipod, get the Alpine.
