Experience with XTC foam baffles

I'm needing a way to protect my door speakers from getting wet. I am pretty sure that is what is killing them. I want to get something to fix this problem before I waste more money. Does anyone have experience with the xtc foam baffles from crutchfield and partsexpress? I dont want to keep taking my door panels off either, so if i use these will it hurt my midbass? They claim it will improve sound, but I am skeptical. I was thinking about just trying them, if it sounds bad, ill try cutting the back off of them maybe.

I've used 'em...I'd suggest that if you are worried about losing some midbass, simply cut out the bottom half of the baffle so it protects the speaker from the water coming from above but still gives the speaker full access to your sexy and wet interior door.

After talking with Nick, tech support for ID, he said that water should really not affect that performance of the CXv2s. Due to the material and process the spider undergoes, he said the spider should not deform with water, and if it did, you would hear mechanical noise due to the deformation. SO I am not thinking it is water damage that killed my speaker. I plan on checking it out this weekend and we'll see what I truly think is causing all this.

Inspecting the v1 that failed, the spider is in tact, the tinsels seem to be connected, and I cant get it to move with power from my home amplifiers. I think magic is killing my speakers.
