Experience w/ CDT ES-06(+) or M6+

Anyone have experience with the CDT ES-06 or the + version? How about the M6+? I'm curious as to the actual difference between the Eurosport versions and the HD versions of these drivers other than color of powdercoat and the magnet boot on the ES version.

I'll probably be ordering one or the other in the next couple weeks and was wondering if the ES was worth the extra $. I'm leaning toward the + models. How are they on the midrange? I plan to run them in a traditional active 2-way setup with the old ES tweets to start off with but the eventual plan is an active setup with them as more midbasses/woofers and the ES-02 or HD-2 mid/tweets crossed as low as I can safely run them. Power isn't an issue. I've got plenty of options on that front (from 12.5 W per channel up to around 200). The woofers will be going in sealed pods in the very front corner of the door and the tweets in the A-pillar. The mid/tweets will be in the kicks when the time comes for them.

Any thoughts from people with actual experience?

i wish i could remember who it was but i recall somone having a pair of the +'s back in the day. even showed me a picture of them. they said they did real well as a midbass driver and played high up into the midrange sorry thats all the info i could give you. but i do recall having a conversation with him explaining the difference between the ES-06 and the + versions.

I was told by djdilliodon that the M6 and ES-06 are basically the same exact thing. The ES just has the fancy magnet cover. The ES-06+ is a completely different beast. He claimed that those midbasses will go low enough and and loud enough to be somewhat of a substitution for subwoofers in certain applications. The ES-06+ does require a sealed enclosure within the door though.

I got my pair and a couple others along with 1 pair of m6+ to test out and also give to some of my customers who buy alot. The ES-06 is pretty much an M6 driver just more dressed up. It uses nicer polished plates with a little cleaner look to it. The es06+ and m6+ are totally different all around. They use custom vented cast frames, 4 pound motor structures, woven leads, copper shortning ring (06+ only), 15mm xmax,push terminals, 1.37" aluminum coil ect. The real difference from the 06+ and m6+ is the copper shortning ring. Both drivers can play to around 2.5khz solid with a normal dome tweeter but when used with the Es-02 or Hd-2 it makes one sweet active 2 way setup. While these drivers can do well in an IB setup, they are ment to be sealed in a .25-.35 cubic foot enclosure. They should be out very soon. I hope you will let us know when the 06+ and M6+ become available. I was interested in the M6 but with the + coming out soon I am going to wait. Can you give any idea on the price difference between M6 and M6+ or 06 to 06+? Will it be pretty big or will they stay roughly in the same area?
