Hey everyone! CES was a blast! Unfortunately, my hotel's WiFi was down the whole weekend, and rather than try to find somewhere else with it, I just decided to leave the laptop in the bag and go have fun. I met some really cool people there, and definitely got a ton of information overload!
The guys from TREO had a cool booth there, but their demo truck was outside of the show in the parking lot - lucky for me I one of the guys brought me out and gave me and Anthony a private demo - sweet! We then got ourselves invited to their private party that night (which we totally screwed up and missed - sad!) but needless to say we were really impressed with their products. Definitely looking forward to seeing their stuff at my shop in the near future!
One other thing worth mentioning was the Powerbass demo vehicle. This thing was probably one of the most detailed/clean install/vehicle build's I've seen in a very long time. Every detail was thought about and executed perfectly but not overdone by any means. Look for it to be taking some more awards soon! And if you have a chance to check it out, do so. Very nice!!
I also got to meet Steve Meade and check out his 2001 Tahoe - very cool guy, very down to earth. I'm sure he doesn't remember me with the huge crowds around, but nonetheless it was very cool to meet him //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
...and... while perusing another company's product line, I happened upon a couple guys with FI and Sundown shirts on. Although they weren't exhibiting, and these guys weren't actual reps for the companies, they were very closely associated and we all chatted for a while. Another connection made with some more really cool, down-to-earth guys! I really enjoyed meeting all these people and getting to know them a bit. I was really surprised at how unbelievably nice most everyone was, and how willing they were to share their knowledge and experience with us.
SOOOOO, what's all this mean to my shop now? Well, it looks like we will be trying to carry the following lines as soon as possible:
FI Car Audio
Sundown Audio
TREO Engineering
JL Audio
Rockford Fosgate (some really cool new SQ speakers coming out real soon!)
...and some other lines too (still trying to figure out what brands of H/U's that I will be carrying, probably Clarion at the very least)
