Excelon KDC-X591 vs. deh-6900ub

I am currently planning on replacing my old alpine head unit because it recently started skipping on almost every cd I own. As the title suggests, I am considering either the kenwood kdc-x591 or x491 or the pioneer 6900. I like some of the pioneer's more advanced features, but it costs a considerable amount more than the other two (especially the x491). Does anyone have any experience with these units that would justify the extra cost of the 6900?

I plan on using it with a 100 watt alpine v12 amp powering 2 xtant 10" subs (I know, i kneed more watts and better subs, but it came with the car), a pair of JL (I think) 6x9's in the rear, and (hopefully) a pair of pg zr6.5's in the front (If I can't make them fit, then I'm stuck with my 4x6 pioneers). Any help is appreciated.

I guess I might stick with the Kenwood anyway because of the 24 bit d-a and the price difference (the 50 bucks saved will go towards fiberglassing kickpods so I can get some 6.5 inch comps; I only have room for 4x6 speakers in the front right now). Thanks for the help though. I just found the thread on fiberglassing and it seems far more doable than expected, so I think I'll give it a shot. The improvement gained with the bigger speakers should be worth the slightly worse head unit (I hope).

well the 6900 is only 50 bucks more than kenwood. and USB is just too darn convenient i will never go back to cds btw.

That Kenwood also has USB. I would go with the Kenwood. I have that same unit and it is great.

PS. That x491 has the same exact sound quality as the x591 if you want to save even more money. x591 looks nicer though and has the usb cord so you can hide your thumbdrive. The x491 has a usb slot right on the face. I like the cord on the x594, i have a 2GB drive and i keep it out of site in the glove compartment
