just got this back from a complete service by alpine with a mile long list of parts that were replaced (just about everything having to do with the motorized face including gears and the ribbon) and is under warranty until 4-15-10. everything works perfectly. i have wanted this hu for a long, long time and finally got one - but now i can't use it. the car i wanted to install it in had big chunky knobs right over the radio opening and the motorized face will not clear them. the only way it would work would be to have a 1" or so spacer but that would make the dash look like crap. i also have a remote i bought last month from bassaddictj on here but i have never even put batteries in it. there is one small mark on the screen but other than that this thing is a 10/10.
