You have the most precious gift in your hands….life! Don’t be stupid by taking that gift away! I don’t think anybody really and truly wants to end their life. You don’t want to kill yourself, you just want the pain to stop. You may see it as a way of taking your pain away, but it will bring the people you are close to sooo much pain. Do you really want that for them? Your problems may only be temporary, but the hurt your friends and family experience will last them a lifetime. You can't control your emotions, but you CAN control where you focus your attention. When I am at my most depressed, I find that my attention is focused on a lot of negative things (worries, ****ed up shit, problems in the world, etc.), and what helps me get past this is to disrupt the habit of thinking negatively by asking myself questions that refocus my attention on good things. Ask yourself "What are 10 good things?" At first, it might be hard to think of stuff, but it gets easier. (Just don't get into the trap of trying to cheer yourself up this way. Doesn't work. You just have to do the exercise with the faith that the accompanying good feelings will come, because they will over time. Meanwhile, you won't be dwelling on all the shit you're dealing with.) Do something nice for some random person and see the smile it puts on their face. Remember a brighter day is just around the corner:)
