Equalizers

After looking through most of the threads, I cant seem to find any info about equalizers on here. I drive a 93 Eagle Talon, and it comes stock with a radio and then a tape deck below it. Right now I have an Alpine HU in (7863 if u care to know(from way back in 2000 when i bought it)) and I am just wondering if anyone would be willing to divulge to me some info on good equalizers to look at. well, you have an alpine hu so invest in an alpine eq., or pioneer. those two would be your best bet. sorry i cant help you on model #s

depend on what kind of eq you're looking for, parametric or graphic, in-dash or trunk mounted and how many bands?

I prefer graphic equalizers, and as I said there is a tape deck sitting in the dash of my car, which does nothing seeing as how it wont hook up to my HU. So I would like to find one for there, for channels I dont particularly need 128 or anything, just looking for something good that is reasonably priced.

ppi, audio control, kicker, alpine, clarion make some good in-dash eq. I personally like kicker kq5 parametric eq.

Most high end headunits like most late model Alpine units have built in eq's.

I would purchase a new headunit with one built in, simple solution to your problem IMO and probably cheaper.

I don't see very many eq's these days but a couple years back Alpine and Pioneer made pretty nice units. Also try Audiocontrol and Orion.

Well, seeing as how my Alpine HU is from 4 years ago *-*. It only has its little version of a makeshift EQ. So instead of buying a new one right now, I was thinking I wanted an EQ instead because it doesnt have the EQ but I do like what it does. Thanks Zephyr Ill look into those, as usual you all have beena great help!!!

First off i would like to say good choice in cars, i have a 91. second eq are for if you are constantly changing the way your deck is set up based off the music, becuase your deck should have on in it. also they are also used for sound quality cars. if you want to change the sound a lot i would get one. when i used them i always used kenwood and never had any problems w them

I just go a cheap 3321 Alpine off ebay. Works great for my application........all old Alpine equipment.....new speakers....
