Ensolite vs. Neoprene

I have a roll of 1/4" thick neoprene (54" x 9 feet) lying around and was wondering if this could be used in place of ensolite or overkill? Just wondering if anyone has used neoprene and what the results were. The properties seem to be similar.

a lot of people use neoprene in recording studios as sound deadener if that helps at all

From what i understand, ensolite helps kill reflections. neoprene is more of a sound blocker/barrier. i think they both have their own usefulness in the car
