Emergency Brake Bypass Relay Issues

I recently brought a Pioneer car dvd stereo AVH-X4600BT. I put in a emergency brake bypass relay so I can watch movies while I'm driving. The movies only play on the 2nd attempt. On the 1st attempt it say " Viewing in the front seat is strictly prohibited" so I have to take the DVD out and put the DVD back in and on the 2nd attempt it works. Is it normal for the movie not to play on the 1st attempt? If not, how can I correct this problem?

yep^^^ Newer head units have to "Sense" that the circuit has been completed. Older units can just ground the brake wire and you're good. My Clarion NX501 is the same way. Has to sense that you "engaged park brake" which grounds the "hot brake wire" to complete the circuit. When you turn on the car your brake wire will just power the relay and then find the ground but you may not be using the DVD at that time so it won't allow it to work.
