I am allowed to have the car on. I am also looking to have this install for my daily driver. I currently have 13.9-14 volts across the amp, this is however with only one installed I am looking to install another one. I would like to have 15.5 volts across each of the amps. Right now, with one amp it is 13.9 volts across the amps and that is with a stock electrical system. When I burp it it is dipping to 12 volts and the amp is cutting out. These amps won't run at less than 12 volts. I am allowed to have the car on when I burp it. From my understanding the voltage of my alt will not cause any major problems with my car's electrical system due to the fact that voltage does not damage, the components in the system that need the extra voltage will be the only things to see the extra voltage. I am only allowed to have 2 batteries and 10 farads of Capacitance (new '07 rules). The car can be running at no more than 2000 RPM's durring the run. I can have 1/0 awg power and grounds per amp. I can NOT exceed 15.5 volts at the amps. Like I said earlier this is what I think I need but I am not sure: 1) Install a HO alt that is 200 - 250 amps. 2) Big 3 Upgrade with 1/0 awg. 3) Install Batcap 2000 Battery under the Hood. 4) Install Either a Batcap8400 or a HC 2400 Kinetic Battery in trunk 5) Chain Batteries together with 1/0 awg wire 6) Install a Batcap minicap 50 (10 Farad Capacitor ) just before the amps. 7) 1/0 power to the amps. 8) 1/0 Ground to the amps. Will this be enough to support both of these monster amps with 15.5 volts? If not what do I need to do to support them? I am looking at running in Stock 1 this year (again) I have never had to boost my electrical system to the point of uping my voltage under the hood, so I don't know what steps to take to increase my car from 14.4V to 16V. Any help hear would be appreciated. Thanks!
