They're pretty much copies of CDT's HD line...

Yeah they are just rebadged CDT's.

they claim they made some design changes, but VERY similar to the HD's imo, sounded great when i had em, not enough midbass IB for me

Go for it - they're good speakers. Just take what eD says with a certain grain of salt.
