There is nothing wrong with the Nine.1 in it's price range.

The cool operation is probably due to the fan. I am not a proponent of fans in car audio amplifiers in general since the incredibly harsh environment tends to cause premature failure, and thusly nasty noises and a replacement fan. I prefer a larger heatsink, which does entail a higher surface temperature to the touch... but is not proplematic provided sufficient thermal mass and dissipation area is present.
